Shazam

Billy Batson (Asher Angel) is a streetwise 14-year-old foster kid who can magically transform into the adult superhero Shazam (Zachary Levi) simply by shouting out one word. His newfound powers soon get put to the test when he squares off against the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).

Our Take: DC finally made a movie we’d watch twice.
Post-credit scene? There’s one in the middle of the credits and another at the end, but you won’t miss much if you miss the latter.

Cold Pursuit

Based on the Norwegian black comedy In Order of Disappearance, Liam Neeson stars in this film as a grieving snowplow driver seeks out revenge against the drug dealers who killed his son.

Our Take: Worth seeing once it hits streaming services. Or just watch Stellan Skarsgard in the Norwegian version which is available on Netflix now. It’s probably the same.
Post-credit scene?: No.

Five Feet Apart

Stella (Haley Lu Richardson) is a teenager that spends most of her time in the hospital as a cystic fibrosis patient. Her life is full of routines and she has got everything figured out until she meets Will (Cole Sprouse), another teen with the same terminal and chronic illness. Flirtation quickly turns into broken rules with potentially deadly consequences.

Our Take: If you’re in the mood for a good cry in a dark theater, it’s a good watch; but it will be just as good when it is on Netflix and can be watched in the comfort of your home with your favorite stuffed animal and a box of Kleenex.
Post-Credit Scene: Nope, you can run to the bathroom as soon as they start rolling.

Captain Marvel

Vers/Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) struggles to figure out who she is while Earth gets caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.

Our Take: Clever marketing individuals had this premiere on International Women’s Day, so treat yourself (or the women in your life) to this delightful female-led Marvel Masterpiece.
Post-credit scene? Yes. Two. It’s a Marvel movie, stay until the overhead theater lights come on.

Avengers: Infinity War

The Avengers and their allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

How Does It Stack Up: The Russo brothers have delivered something wonderful in the third Avengers film. It’s the beginning of the end of the MCU as we know it, but they’re going out in spectacular fashion. If you haven’t seen it recently, stop what you’re doing and watch it now. Watch it about three times. Then just keep watching it on repeat until you get a chance to see Captain Marvel.

Infinity Stone Roll Call: They’re all currently in the Infinity Gauntlet, but let’s take a look at how they got there: Space Stone (handed over by Loki aboard evacuation vessel), Mind Stone (taken from Vision), Reality Stone (taken from Collector’s vault on Knowhere), Time Stone (handed over by Doctor Strange on Titan), Soul Stone (retrieved from the keeper on the planet Vormir), and Power Stone (taken following the destruction of Xandar).

Ant-Man and the Wasp

Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is grappling with the consequences of his choices as both a superhero and a father. Approached by Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Lang must once again don the Ant-Man suit and fight alongside the Wasp. The urgent mission soon leads to secret revelations from the past as the dynamic duo finds itself in an epic battle against a powerful new enemy.

How Does It Stack Up: Getting a bit out of order, Ant-Man and the Wasp which came out about two months after Infinity War actually takes place before Infinity War in the timeline, though the post-credits scene takes place concurrently, as evidenced by the dust problem that Scott Lang encounters during a trip to the quantum realm. Rumors abound that the quantum realm is going to have real implications in the coming Avengers Endgame.
