This film is a fun, family adventure. There’s some CGI, there’s some derivative plots (looking at you Anaconda 2), and there’s plenty of fun performances, but it’s not going to win any awards, it’s nothing to really write home about. All that said, sometimes all you need is a perfectly adequate film. Not perfect. Not bad. Just the right amount of entertaining and a good way to spend a few hours.
After a remote diamond mine collapses in far northern Canada, Mike (Liam Neeson), a ‘big-rig’ ice road driver, must lead an impossible rescue mission over a frozen ocean to save the trapped miners. Our Take: If you are a Liam Neeson fan, you will not be disappointed.Streaming? Yes. Netflix.
This musical is a musical for people who like musicals and that’s not everybody’s cup of tea.
In this world of unprecedented times it’s nice to watch something completely superficial and expected. This film didn’t require us to think a whole lot, featured some relatively attractive people, and was a good way to spend a couple of hours.
It’s all worth it though for the denouement, culminating in a final scene that borders on perfection.
